Our Livestock
Keeping and breeding heritage livestock is important for preserving genetic diversity, maintaining resilient and adaptable animal populations, and supporting sustainable farming practices. These traditional breeds were developed over generations to thrive in specific environments, often with traits like disease resistance, strong maternal instincts, and the ability to forage naturally.
Heritage animals play a crucial role in protecting food security by keeping valuable genetics alive that may be lost in modern, industrialized agriculture. Breeding them also helps preserve cultural heritage and supports small-scale, ethical farming that values animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
Heritage Swine
The Tamworth Pig

The Tamworth pig is a heritage breed known for its reddish-gold coat, hardiness, and excellent meat quality, particularly flavorful bacon and lean pork. Originally from England, the breed is one of the oldest pure breeds of pigs and was developed in the 19th century with roots tracing back to wild boar ancestry.
Tamworths are active, intelligent, and good foragers, making them ideal for pasture-based or woodland farming systems. They have long, narrow bodies and upright ears, and they thrive in outdoor environments.
Valued for their gentle temperament and mothering ability, Tamworths are also listed as a threatened breed in some regions, making their conservation important for genetic diversity in farming.
Heritage Poultry
Ameraucana chicken

We’re proud breeders of Ameraucana chickens, known for their distinctive beards, muffs, and charmingly fluffy faces. Medium in size and gentle in nature, Ameraucanas are hardy, friendly birds that thrive both in the barnyard and out foraging freely.
Our flock includes several recognized color varieties—black, blue, and white—each with its own unique beauty. Beyond their looks, Ameraucanas are excellent layers of beautiful blue eggs that add a splash of color to every egg basket.
We are proud members of the American Poultry Association and the Ameraucana Breeders Club, and we’re committed to maintaining the breed’s standards of quality, health, and temperament through responsible breeding practices.

Copper Maran Chickens

Copper Marans (often called Black Copper Marans) are a striking and sought-after chicken breed known for their deep, rich brown eggs—often described as "chocolate-colored." Originating in France, they gained international popularity for both their beauty and exceptional egg color.
These birds have glossy black feathers with an iridescent sheen and copper-colored hackles (neck feathers), especially prominent in roosters. Copper Marans are generally calm, hardy, and friendly, making them a good choice for backyard flocks.
Aside from their egg color, which ranges from dark mahogany to almost red-brown, they are also appreciated for their good meat quality and attractive appearance. They lay a moderate number of eggs per year but are often chosen for the unique beauty of their eggs rather than high productivity.
Novelty Poultry
Easter Egger
Easter Eggers are a popular and colorful type of chicken known for their ability to lay eggs in a variety of shades, including blue, green, pink, and even olive. They are not a true breed, but rather a hybrid variety often derived from Araucana or Ameraucana crosses.
